đź’» Mark your calendars: The Grant Centers will be hosting a free virtual Grants 101 Workshop this December! This virtual event will take place December 4, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This comprehensive virtual workshop will guide participants through each critical step of the pre-award process, including:
• Seeking & Finding Grants
• Building Community Partnerships
• Developing Budgets & Budget Justifications
• Understanding Matching Funds
• Common Grant Attachments
• Grant Readiness
• Developing a Project Narrative
• Thinking Like a Reviewer

This Training is Recommended For: West Virginia communities, nonprofits, businesses, and other grant-eligible entities who are interested in engaging with the grant writing process. No prior grant writing experience is required.

What to Expect: Participants can expect to gain a thorough understanding of the grant writing process and elevate their application assembly skills.

📣 Registration is open for the Intermediate Grant Writing Microcredential Course! This eight-week virtual course will take place from July 6 - August 28, 2026.

Developed and led by Emily Brammer, Co-Director of the Grant Centers, this course will enable participants to advance their existing grant writing knowledge, use new strategies to assemble a competitive proposal package, and earn a microcredential in the process.

• Course Dates: July 6th- August 28th

• Course Fee: A one-time fee of $250 is required through Marshall Skills Exchange.

• All required texts and materials will be provided through Blackboard.

This course is recommended for individuals who have some grant writing experience or have completed the Grant Centers’ introductory “Essentials of Grant Writing” Microcredential Course. Seats are limited and will be reserved in the order received.
