CHHD's Liz Chambers and Karen Shannon participated in this past Saturday's monthly Marshall Medical Outreach (MMO) clinic at the Huntington City Mission. Vaccines and screenings were offered. Marshall Medical Outreach (MMO) provides free medical care to the homeless, unemployed, and those at risk of homelessness in our city and works to connect those in need with primary care and social services with dignity and respect.

🌿🕷️ Ticks, Teamwork & Training! 🕷️🌿

CHHD kicked off the morning with our monthly All-Staff Meeting! Dr. Michael Kilkenny welcomed everyone, celebrated our August birthdays 🎂, and helped us get the day started on a great note.

We were excited to welcome retired Marshall University Biological Sciences Professor Dr. James Joy as our guest speaker. Dr. Joy gave an engaging and informative presentation on the different types of ticks, their characteristics, and what makes each one unique. 🕷️🔍

We also shared important department updates and were pleased to recognize a Marshall Medical student and two Marshall School of Nursing students currently rotating through our clinic. We appreciate their time with CHHD and the opportunity to help prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals! 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

Another great morning of learning, collaboration, and public health in action! 💚
