During the COVID-19 pandemic, Healthy Connections adapted to support both families and the professionals serving them. As Lyn O’Connell shares, this work led to expanded virtual education and our Fall 2022 Conference, which brought providers and partners together to focus on self-care, resilience, and strengthening care for pregnant and parenting families.

In 2021, Healthy Connections strengthened education and recovery support through conferences and the launch of a statewide ECHO focused on treating pregnant and parenting women with substance use disorders. From July 2021 through December 2023, the Marshall Department of Family and Community Health led this ECHO in partnership with WVCTSI and WVU, with funding from the Danya Institute.

In 2019, Healthy Connections launched a large-scale multimedia campaign focused on reducing stigma and increasing awareness of recovery services, including the KIDS Clinic. From billboards to webinars, this work helped reach families, providers, and the broader community.
