A huge thank you to SPECO! 🌮❤️

Today, the wonderful team from SPECO prepared and served a delicious taco lunch for our clients and staff. In addition to the meal, they generously shared care bags and Narcan, helping provide both comfort and life-saving resources to members of our community.

We are grateful for partners like SPECO who take the time to show up, serve, and support our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Acts of kindness like these make a real difference and remind our clients that their community cares.

Today, we were excited to welcome Dr. Steel and Vincent to Vanity Fair Apartments for the first in a series of cooking demonstrations designed to help residents make the most of their Medically Indicated Food Boxes.

During the demonstration, residents learned how to safely prepare and cook foods included in their boxes, along with practical tips for creating healthy, nutritious meals at home. Programs like this help remove barriers to healthy eating and empower individuals with the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their health.

A huge thank you to Dr. Steel and Vincent for sharing their time, expertise, and encouragement with our residents. We are grateful for community partners who help make healthy living more accessible for everyone.

💙 Wish List Wednesday 💙

This week, our shelter is in need of a few everyday essentials for the people we serve:

• Deodorant
• Underwear
• Bottled water
• Textured hair care products, such as moisturizing shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, hair oil, edge control, bonnets, durags, wide-tooth combs, and brushes

These items may seem simple, but they help our neighbors stay healthy, comfortable, and cared for. Every donation makes a difference and helps us continue meeting basic needs with dignity.

We have a few open lunch dates in June and need volunteers to help prepare and serve a meal for our guests at Harmony House.

Open dates:

June 3, June 16, June 24, and June 30

This is a meaningful way for churches, businesses, civic groups, families, and friends to serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Today’s lunch came with an extra helping of gratitude. 💙

Thank you to Trinity Church and St. John’s Church for providing lunch today and continuing to show up with care, kindness, and generosity for our neighbors.

We also want to give a very special welcome back to our friend who spent 45 days in the hospital, was released last night, and still asked what time he should be here today to help serve lunch.

That kind of heart says so much! We are grateful for the people who make Harmony House feel like community, and today was a beautiful reminder of just how strong that community is.

Today’s Gripe and Grill was a wonderful chance for our Vanity Fair residents and Harmony House staff to come together over good food and conversation.

A big thank you to Property Manager Jimmie Foltz for serving up hamburgers, hot dogs with homemade hot dog chili, baked beans, and coleslaw. We are grateful for the care and effort that went into making the meal feel welcoming and special.

Moments like this help build connection, strengthen community, and remind us that shared meals can be a meaningful part of supporting one another.
