TESTING

Tomorrow (Wednesday ) we will be testing the Warning Siren System at 11:00am. Remember, this system is designed to be heard outdoors. You may not hear the siren indoors so you need to have more than one way to receive warnings and alerts.

Do you have a plan in the event of damaging weather or other emergencies?

THANK YOU!

Now that we have had the opportunity to take a breath, we would like to say thank you.

A huge thank you, to the countless numbers of neighbors in our community that jumped into action Monday morning to check on neighbors, grabbed a chain saw and started clearing roads and yards, preparing and delivering foods, and just being the kind of people you need on a day like that. You are what makes this community a special place to live.

Thank you to the many agencies that sent crews into the storm and its aftermath.

Thank you to US National Weather Service Kansas City Missouri, and US National Weather Service Saint Louis Missouri for being that steadfast partner.

If you thought or prayed for our community and our residents, thank you.

Know that this could have been a lot worse. We are so grateful that despite the damage, the destroyed homes and businesses, the multiple car and truck wrecks, and a house fire, we did not have any reported injuries as a result of Monday's multiple tornadoes.

The National Weather Service in Kansas City has confirmed two more tornadoes touched down on Monday morning in Randolph County. A survey team was out earlier this week and found a 36 mile long path of damage after an EF-2 tornado touched down in Saline County and traveled through the southern tip of...

HWY A CLOSURE UPDATE

The crew from Central Electric Power Co-Op has been working all day to store the damage infrastructure to the transmission power lines that cross Highway A north of Higbee. This requires the rebuilding of multiple destroyed towers that hold the lines.

Work may be continuing through the overnight hours.

If Highway A is your normal route during your daily activities, please make plans to detour around the work area again on Tuesday.

If you see linemen working in other parts of Randolph County, please give them plenty of room. They are working as quickly as they can to restore electric power as soon as possible.
