📢IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2026-2027:

In an effort to maximize learning time and get students to class faster, we have implemented the following changes to car rider procedures for this school year.

Families who ONLY have 3rd, 4th or 5th graders will drop them off in the morning at the Louis Davis Gym on Goodrich Drive. This area will be available from 7:15-7:40. After 7:40 am ALL drop offs will move to the front of the building - no exceptions.

Families who have PreK-2nd graders plus any siblings will drop off in the front of the building in the circle drive located off of Highway 190.

Please do not drop off any students before 7:15 as there are no adults and they would be left unattended.

We also ask you not to drop off students by the crosswalk on Goodrich for safety reasons.

Afternoon Pick up will follow the same procedures as the morning. Thank you for helping us get everyone in the building and out of the building safely each day.

The purpose of the Hall of Champions is to acknowledge the outstanding lifetime achievements of FORMER Huntsville Hornets in a variety of categories. The honor reflects PERSONAL and PROFESSIONAL accomplishments, as well as larger contributions to our society at a local, state, national, or international level. Honorees are ROLE MODELS and represent Champions in Life - the “BEST of the BEST” among Hornet Alumni, former HISD employees, and former HISD trustees.

Submit your nominations TODAY! The nomination deadline is FRIDAY, AUGUST 14, 2026, to be considered for this fall's recognition.

If you need technology or translation assistance please come to the SLC Training Room #1 across the street from SJE on Monday, Aug. 3rd from 8-12 PM, or from 1:00-4:00 PM on Tuesday, August 4th. Please park in Parking Lot A or B.

Effective Monday, July 27, 2026, the Huntsville ISD Hawkins Administration Building will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This schedule adjustment will help us better support our campuses by ensuring district leadership and administrative resources are available earlier in the day, when schools need them most.

Huntsville ISD Online Student Registration is OPEN for all NEW and RETURNING students for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. We encourage families to log into your parent portal account in the Skyward Family Access Center to complete the entire registration process as soon as possible to ensure a smooth start.

SOCIOECONOMIC FORM
Lunch Income Survey - We must have a completed Socioeconomic form submitted for each student. The form is located in the Skyward Family Access Center and the tab icon for the form is labeled “2026-2027 SOCIOECONOMIC INFORMATION FORM”.

TRANSPORTATION REGISTRATION
ALL Students - NEW & RETURNING - MUST Register to Ride the School Bus before being able to ride. Bus Registration can also be found in the Skyward Family Access Center.
*The Student Registration process for school must be completed for the 2026-2027 (New or Returning) before completing the 2026-2027 Bus Registration Form.

Students MUST be Registered and Approved to Ride the bus by July 28, 2026, to be able to ride on the First Day of School.

All student Bus Registrations received after July 28, 2026, will be processed after the first week of school.

NOTE: Parents, if you have already completed the Student Registration process but not the Socioeconomic Form or the Transportation Registration, please log back into your Skyward Family Access Center parent portal and click on the appropriate icons to complete the other required registration steps.

Huntsville ISD Tropical Weather Watch - 6/16/2026 Alert

Dear Huntsville ISD Families,

Huntsville ISD is currently tracking inclement weather forecasts related to tropical storm activity along the Texas Gulf Coast. Over the next few days, our immediate area faces a strong potential for increased rainfall which will increase the potential for flooding and gusty winds. Despite these conditions, we anticipate normal operations with summer school as scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 17.

Our monitoring will continue through tonight and into Thursday. Early tomorrow morning, the HISD Transportation Department will conduct an evaluation of local road conditions. If any changes to our schedule become necessary, we will notify families no later than 5:30 AM, or as soon as a decision is reached.

For the latest updates regarding plans for our school community, please stay tuned to the Huntsville ISD website and our social media channels. We encourage all families, particularly those in low-lying areas, to take all the necessary precautions to ensure their safety.
