Serving Huntsville, Texas and the surrounding communities since 1967, Huntsville Public Library is recognized as an institution that strives to provide quality services for the community. The Library hosts outstanding programming for children and adults, including a growing adult literacy program. Patrons can browse our shelves for the newest releases in book titles or choose from a variety of aud

io books and DVDs for entertainment. Our public computers make technology just a click away and the online catalog is available 24/7 for easy account management. Visitors to Huntsville Public Library will find our friendly staff readily available to provide customer assistance. In 2009, the feasibility committee recommended to City Council the development of a preliminary design for a larger facility. On November 4 of that year, over 80 percent of Huntsville voters approved funding to renovate and expand the library. The $3.5 million bond tripled the size of the current building and increased the square footage to 22,000. Other benefits of the expansion included a dedicated teen space, study rooms, a community room, space for a larger collection, more seating, and additional parking.

Come to “Read with the Dogs,” a literacy initiative held in collaboration with Pets With A Mission . Register for a 10-minute one-on-one reading session with trained shih tzus therapy dogs, Annie Toofers and Kringle. Recommended age is 6+ and siblings/family are allowed to reserve together as 1 time slot. Feel free to bring your favorite book or pick out a Library book before your reservation! Registration will be done in person or over the phone, limited availability.
