Even when children aren't directly harmed, growing up around abuse can affect how they feel and grow. Some kids become anxious or withdrawn, struggle in school, or carry unhealthy patterns into their own relationships later on.

The hopeful part is that children are incredibly resilient, especially with steady support. Our youth services include trauma-informed counseling, safety education, and activities designed to help kids feel secure as their families heal.

Last night, we were honored to be part of the City of Huntsville’s recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We are grateful to the City of Huntsville for helping raise awareness, support survivors, and stand with those affected by domestic violence. 💜

This proclamation is a meaningful reminder that domestic violence impacts individuals and families in every community. Together, we can break the silence, encourage conversations, and remind survivors that they are not alone.

Thank you to the City of Huntsville and our community for standing alongside SAAFE House in our mission to support survivors and create safer communities. 💜

At last night’s City Council meeting, Mayor Russell Humphrey presented three special proclamations:

🎙️ Clyde "Kooter" Roberson – Honored for his induction into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame!
🚑 First Responder Appreciation Day – Honoring our brave local heroes.
💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month – Supporting survivors and promoting safety in Huntsville.
