We are honored to have been selected as a recipient of the 2026 Roxie Douglas Humanitarian Award, presented Saturday evening at the 30th Annual Roxie Douglas Scholarship Banquet.

The Roxie Douglas Scholarship supports graduating high school seniors in our community and honors the legacy of Roxie Douglas, a longtime educator and Huntsville resident who dedicated herself to making a difference in the lives of others.

The organization continues to do tremendous work for the youth of Huntsville, and we are grateful to be recognized alongside others who share a commitment to serving our community.

Thank you to the Roxie Douglas Scholarship Foundation for this special recognition and for 30 years of investing in the young people of Huntsville. We are proud to serve this community and are truly honored to receive this award.

Important update regarding drop-off and pickup at Scott Johnson Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year.

📢IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR 2026-2027:

In an effort to maximize learning time and get students to class faster, we have implemented the following changes to car rider procedures for this school year.

Families who ONLY have 3rd, 4th or 5th graders will drop them off in the morning at the Louis Davis Gym on Goodrich Drive. This area will be available from 7:15-7:40. After 7:40 am ALL drop offs will move to the front of the building - no exceptions.

Families who have PreK-2nd graders plus any siblings will drop off in the front of the building in the circle drive located off of Highway 190.

Please do not drop off any students before 7:15 as there are no adults and they would be left unattended.

We also ask you not to drop off students by the crosswalk on Goodrich for safety reasons.

Afternoon Pick up will follow the same procedures as the morning. Thank you for helping us get everyone in the building and out of the building safely each day.

📚 BACK TO SCHOOL – HUNTSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL TRAFFIC INFORMATION 🚗

The first day of school is Tuesday, August 18!

As students head back to class, we want to remind parents and drivers to review the Huntsville High School student drop-off and pick-up map before the first day.

Please pay close attention to the designated entrance, drop-off/pick-up area, and exit shown on the map. Following the designated traffic pattern will help keep vehicles moving and, most importantly, help keep our students safe.

As everyone settles back into the school routine, please allow a little extra time, watch for students and school traffic, and be patient with other drivers.

We hope all of our students, teachers, and staff have a safe and successful school year!
