Continuing to Train. Continuing to Grow.

Earlier this month, our member Mathew successfully completed Swift Water Rescue II training through TARS! 🌊💪

We’re proud to see our members continuing to build their knowledge, skills, and capabilities through advanced training opportunities.

And we’re not finished yet! This weekend, another one of our members will be attending the final Swift Water Rescue II course of the year, continuing our commitment to having trained and prepared personnel ready when they’re needed most.

🔥 National Volunteer Firefighter Day 🔥
Today, we proudly recognize the dedicated volunteer firefighters who selflessly serve and protect their communities.

Although our Rescue Squad is not a firefighting organization, several members of our squad also serve as volunteer firefighters. We’re especially proud of their commitment, sacrifice, and willingness to answer the call, whether serving with the fire department or our organization.

⛳ Darrell Bell Memorial Golf Tournament 2026 🚒

Earlier this year, the Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue family lost one of our own, Darrell Bell. Darrell’s service, friendship, and dedication to our department and community left an impact that will not be forgotten.

This October, we invite our friends, families, local businesses, fellow first responders, and community members to join us for the Darrell Bell Memorial Golf Tournament, a day dedicated to remembering Darrell, celebrating his life, and continuing the spirit of service he represented.

📍 The Highlands Course at Hampton Cove – Huntsville, AL

• $125 per player
• $500 per team
• Mulligans / Power Drives available
• Putting Contest
• Raffle prizes throughout the tournament

We are also looking for businesses and individuals who would like to sponsor the tournament. Sponsorship opportunities are available at several levels, including Gold, Silver, Bronze, Hole, Hole-in-One, Long Drive, and Lunch sponsorships.

All proceeds from the tournament will benefit Toney Volunteer Fire & Rescue, helping us continue serving and protecting the Toney community.

The Huntsville-Madison County Rescue Squad, Inc recently assisted New Hope Fire Department with helping a hiker safely out of the Bethel Springs Trail area.

We are ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support our fellow public safety departments and serve those in need.

We’re proud to work alongside our local first responders to help keep our community and visitors safe.

Today, our new members spent time building their skills and gaining hands-on experience with equipment and various rescue techniques.

Some of the Training included:
Stair Chair Operations
Lift Bag Operations
Cribbing Techniques
Rescue Jacks
Vehicle Stabilization

Every training opportunity helps our members become safer, more confident, and better prepared to serve our community. From learning the equipment to working together as a team, these skills are an important part of being ready for whatever the next call may bring.

🚸 BACK TO SCHOOL = BACK TO SAFETY 🚸

As students across Madison County head back to the classroom, the Huntsville-Madison County Rescue Squad reminds everyone that roadway safety starts with each of us.

🟢 Slow down in school zones.
🟢 Stay off your phone and eliminate distractions.
🟢 Watch for children crossing streets, walking, and riding bicycles.
🟢 Stop for school buses with flashing red lights—it’s the law.
🟢 Allow extra time for your commute and be patient.

A few extra seconds behind the wheel can make a lifetime of difference for a child and their family.

Drive like their lives depend on it… because they do.
