Madison County Commission District One personnel are reporting several roads are impassable in New Market, Plevna, Meridianville, and the Hazel Green areas. All of the area has flooding at this time.

Crews are working to clear fallen trees out of roadways and putting out barricades for roads that are impassable.

Please do not attempt to go around any barricades and use extreme caution if you must travel this evening.

Beginning Friday, June 12, 2026, at 6:00 a.m., weather permitting, Slaughter Road between Greenwood Drive and Eastview Drive will be temporarily closed to allow for the installation of storm pipes. The temporary closure will last approximately 3 days, and the road will reopen by Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. Traffic control and detour signage will be in-place to direct traffic around the work area.

Motorists are highly encouraged to take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion. If the area cannot be avoided, we kindly ask motorists to stay alert, drive carefully along the detour route, and plan for possible delays.

Thank you for your patience as we work to improve the roads and enhance safety for everyone in Madison County.
