Windham School District (Windham) operates at 98 facilities within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, providing appropriate educational programs to meet the needs of men and women residing within correctional facilities. Windham’s academic, career and technical education (CTE), and cognitive behavior programs are designed to provide students with the skills needed to obtain employment upon

Students at the Cotulla, East Texas Treatment Facility, Lane Murray and Stringfellow campuses recently celebrated major educational achievements through Windham School District. Graduates earned high school equivalency certificates, career and technical education credentials and Certificates of Completion of Apprenticeship through the U.S. Department of Labor.

On May 6, 2026, Windham School District's Coleman campus and the University of Texas at Austin celebrated the completion of the Texas Prison Education Initiative spring semester. Students successfully completed university-level core curriculum courses, including College Algebra, Reading and Writing, Psychology, Sociology and Calculus.

More than 100 students at the Coleman campus participated in and completed coursework through this partnership. The district extends its appreciation to the dedicated staff who made this opportunity possible.
