This month, we are proud to recognize Mya H., an 18-year-old graduate of Huntsville High School's Class of 2026, as our Junior Librarian of the Month!
Mya's love of reading began with the beloved Junie B. Jones series and has continued to grow throughout her life. She especially enjoys books filled with adventure, coming-of-age stories, and romance. One of her all-time favorite series is Harry Potter, which has been a treasured part of her reading journey since childhood.
When asked about her favorite library memory, Mya reflected on the COVID lockdown period. During a time when the world felt uncertain, books became her escape, her comfort, and her outlet. Stories helped her stay connected to imagination, hope, and adventure when she needed them most.
Over the years, Mya has generously volunteered her time at the library, reading to our Story Time children, helping with crafts, and always bringing a warm smile and positive attitude. Her kindness and willingness to help have made a lasting impact on our library community.
If you're looking for a book recommendation from Mya, she suggests *The Honey Witch*. Currently on her TBR (To Be Read) list are *Cinnamon roll Cafe* and *Five Feet Apart*.
As Mya prepares for her next chapter and heads off to college, we want her to know how much she has meant to our library family. Watching her grow from a young reader into a thoughtful, compassionate young adult has been a true joy. We hope her future is filled with exciting adventures, lifelong friendships, endless opportunities, and, of course, plenty of wonderful books.
Congratulations, Mya! We are so proud of you and can't wait to see where your story takes you next. โค๏ธ๐
