We would like to wish a fond farewell and a happy retirement to our Netherlands SALO, LTC Peter Tijsen! 🎉 During his 3 years at USASAC, LTC Tijsen not only worked diligently on his country's cases, but he also stepped up to be a board member of the International Customer User Group (ICUG), strengthening the relationships and collaboration between the U.S. and FMS partners.

As a cornerstone in SALO community, you will surely be missed. We wish you the absolute best in your retirement and know you will continue to make a difference wherever you go. 👏👏👏

Team USASAC wishes Mr. Nathan Parks a fond farewell and congratulations!

U.S. Army Brig. Gen. Jason Jefferis, Commanding General of the U.S. Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC), presented Parks with the Superior Civilian Service Medal on June 22 in the Great Hall at USASAC Headquarters on Redstone Arsenal, Alabama.

This award recognizes Parks’ outstanding leadership and dedication from June 2023 to June 2026. During his tenure as the Director of Resource Management, G-8—which included a vital rotation as the Acting Deputy to the Commanding General—he made a lasting impact on our organization and the wider Army:
• 📊 Financial Stewardship: Effectively managed more than $180 billion in critical Security Assistance resources.
• ⚙️ FMS Reform: Established the Program Budget Advisory Committee, directly shaping and modernizing Army Foreign Military Sales reform efforts.

While we are sad to see him leave USASAC, we are incredibly proud of his next step. Mr. Parks is departing to accept a prestigious Senior Executive Service (SES) appointment at the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where he will serve as the Deputy J8 & Director of Financial Improvement/Audit Remediation.

Thank you, Nate, for your exceptional leadership, fiscal stewardship, and dedication to the warfighter. We wish you the absolute best in your new role!

🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who participated in our OPSEC Awareness Month Challenges in May!

From creative children's artwork and clever animal companions to the competitive problem-solvers who conquered our brain-teasers, the turnout was fantastic.

These activities did more than just provide entertainment—they helped reinforce vital security principles, highlighted key tools, and sparked meaningful dialogues about protecting critical information with our colleagues and families.

Congratulations to all our champions! Let’s maintain this vigilant mindset all year long. 🛡️

Congratulations and best wishes to all!

It was an honor to welcome BG Jefferis on his first visit to New Cumberland this week, where he toured the facility, met some of the workforce and held an open discussion with supervisors. This engagement provided a valuable platform to discuss current operations and demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the mission. We look forward to many more productive visits and continued collaboration in the future.
