Family Services Center is honored to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Women’s Philanthropy Society grant for this past year and grateful to have attended the Toasting with Tallulah event last night at Stovehouse.
We are also very grateful and proud of our long-standing partnership with the Community Foundation of Greater Huntsville that allowed us to continue our mission of creating healthier families and stronger communities. A commitment that started in 1962.
Representing Family Services Center is Teri Johnston, CFO/COO who was instrumental in submitting the grant that was selected. This grant provided FSC the opportunity to provide rental/mortgage assistance to 25 families (keeping them in their homes), utility assistance/utility deposits for 20 families, and provided security deposits for 11 other families, helping them achieve their goal of achieving long-term affordable housing.
Families who, without this assistance, would have most certainly faced even greater financial hardship and been unable to meet their most basic and urgent needs.
When women come together to make a difference, to provide hope, and to give generously, nothing is impossible. The Women’s Philanthropy Society (WPS) was created for women by women to leave a legacy of love—an enduring gift for generations to come—across a broad spectrum of issues impacting the quality of life for women and their families in the Greater Huntsville community.
Thank you for believing in the Family Services Center. Because believing in us allows us to also believe in others.

Because as we talked about last night - sometimes, it really is as simple as giving someone a chance.
