National EMS Week is a time to recognize and honor the dedicated Emergency Medical Services professionals who answer the call every day to protect the health, safety, and well-being of our communities. EMS Week highlights the commitment, sacrifice, compassion, and teamwork shown by EMTs and Paramedics across the nation.

The Randolph County Ambulance District would like to sincerely thank all of our employees for their unwavering service, professionalism, and dedication to the citizens of Randolph County. Whether responding in the middle of the night, during severe weather, on difficult calls, or during moments of crisis, our crews continue to serve with compassion, courage, and heart.

To our EMTs and paramedics — thank you for the long hours, missed holidays, teamwork, and selfless commitment you show every single day. Your compassion for others and dedication to this community does not go unnoticed.

The US National Weather Service Kansas City Missouri has issued a TORNADO WATCH for our area until 1am Tuesday. Make sure you have a way to receive weather updates during the overnight hours.

We mourn the loss of a true pillar of the fire service and a man whose impact on our district will never be forgotten — Allen Kohler.

Allen dedicated decades of his life to serving others, beginning his fire service career in 1966. Throughout the years, he served as Chief of the West Randolph Rural Fire Association , the City of Huntsville Fire Department, and played a vital role in the formation of the Westran Fire Protection District. His leadership, dedication, and commitment to protecting our communities helped build the foundation of the department we are today.

Allen was more than a firefighter and chief — he was a mentor, a leader, and a friend to many. His knowledge, work ethic, and passion for the fire service touched countless lives across the district and beyond.

The fire service has lost a great asset, but his legacy will continue to live on through every member who serves this community.

Please keep Allen’s family, friends, and all who had the privilege of serving beside him in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

We will be conducting the monthly siren test today at 11AM!
Today's test will also include the mobile alert app.
Please use this time to practice your plan or start making a plan on what you would do and where you would go in the real event of a tornado. As we found out last week these storms come at different hours of the day. Make sure you have a plan in place!
