6:00 AM Wednesday (6/10): A line of weakening storms continues to track northeast across the Northland. These storms have produced wind gusts of 25-35 mph and will continue to weaken this morning. This is just round one! More storms later today - see our website for the latest briefing.

⚠️ ATTENTION BWCA CAMPERS ⚠️
Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness this afternoon and evening, Wednesday, June 10.

Timing: The highest probability for severe weather is between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Hazards: Damaging wind gusts and large hail (up to golf ball sized, 2"+ in diameter) are the primary threats.

If you are currently camping or planning to head out, take extra precautions right now to secure your campsites. Have a plan to seek safe shelter or consider altering your travel plans until the storms pass. Stay weather aware!

🌤️ Warm and dry weather persists through mid-week, with elevated fire weather conditions possible through Wednesday afternoon due to the prolonged dry conditions. Scattered rain/storms then arrive Thursday afternoon, persisting through much of the weekend. Temperatures will be around 5 to 10 degrees above average during this time, reading mainly in the 80s.

After a prolonged dry period for much of the Northland, widespread rain chances return at the end of this week. First, a cold front moves through west to to east late Wednesday into Thursday. Then, additional showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop along a stationary front in the Upper Midwest Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning. Isolated severe storms are possible late Wednesday and again Thursday afternoon and evening.
