The Iron County Highway Department will be closing County Truck C approximately 0.6 miles from Highway 51 on Wednesday, September 2nd, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The closure is necessary to replace a culvert. Motorists should plan for the road closure and use an alternate route during this time. 🚧 🚧

⚠️⚠️South Island Lake Road is open. Drive at your own risk. The town closes the road for safety but someone decided it was a good idea to break the gates open. Weight limits still apply to the road.

04/30/2026

Per the Town of Carey road crew - weight limits will remain on Island Lake Road.
South Island Lake Road remains closed.
Both roads will be reevaluated next week.
