Sealed bids will be received at the office of the Beadle County Auditor, 450 3rd St. SW Ste #201, Huron SD, 57350 for the following items of until 11:00am, February 19th, 2026 at the office of the County Auditor in the Beadle County Courthouse:
• Bituminous Road Oil and Emulsions to be delivered in insulated transports at application temperatures. Demurrage charges will be stated. FOB any point in Beadle County
A. MC-3000
B. MC-70
C. CRS-2P

• Concrete Pipe & Concrete Bridge Materials
• Annual Hot and Cold Mix Bid
A. SD DOT Spec Book Class D Type Hot Mix
B. Price to be quoted F.O.B plant site within 120 miles of Huron SD
• Rental of Lease of miscellaneous equipment for road construction and maintenance
A. Bids must be submitted on an hourly basis for use of equipment
B. Milling/Reclaiming Equipment Rental with Operator (Bid Per Sq.Yd)
• Aggregate for Asphalt Servicing
A. All material bid shall meet specifications as set forth in the “South Dakota Standard Specifications for Road and Bridges 2015 Edition” Section 881.2 (Type 1B). All material shall be crushed quartzite.
B. No Delivery will be included
C. Price will be per ton up to 2,000 ton
• Aggregate Hauling various points within Beadle County or surrounding area. Bids will be per loaded ton mile. All hauling will be coordinated through the Highway Superintendent.
All bid envelopes shall be clearly marked as to item to bid. Specified bids shall be quoted FOB Huron, SD and various points specified in Beadle County. All bids will be good for the year 2026 unless stated otherwise. By virtue of statutory authority preference may be given to materials produced, or supplies found or produced and manufactured within the State of South Dakota. Where applicable, all materials and supplies shall meet specifications set forth in the “Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridges” established by the SD Department of Transportation. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject and or all bids, and consider prior history of service or products when awarding bids. Beadle County Highway Department has an opening for a full-time Maintenance Worker.
Job Objective:
• Employee maintains the Beadle County Highway System by removing snow, repairing roads (gravel and oil), bridges, repairing and replacing signs to ensure the safety of the traveling public.
• Employee operates a variety of trucks and equipment and performs all types of related construction and maintenance work as necessary.
• This position reports to the Highway Department Foreman and to the Highway Superintendent.
• Employee’s work will be checked by the Foreman, as well as the Highway Superintendent.
