⚠️ WASHINGTON COUNTY RESIDENTS & VISITORS: Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are officially in effect. ⚠️
Due to extreme heat and dry vegetation across Southwest Utah, the State Forester has issued a Stage 1 Fire Restriction Order for all unincorporated areas of Washington County, effective as of June 5, 2026.
To protect our communities and public lands, the following acts are PROHIBITED until further notice:
❌ No Open Fires: Campfires, charcoal, or wood fires are banned unless they are in approved, permanent fire rings/grills at developed public campgrounds/day-use areas with pressurized running water, OR at private residences with pressurized water systems. ❌ No Smoking: Except inside an enclosed vehicle/building, at a developed recreation site, or while stopped in a paved/cleared area free of dry vegetation. ❌ No Pyrotechnics: Discharging fireworks, tracer ammunition, or exploding targets is strictly banned. ❌ No Metal Work: Cutting, welding, or grinding metal in areas of dry vegetation is prohibited. ❌ Engine Safety: Do not operate motorcycles, chainsaws, ATVs, or small internal combustion engines without a working, approved spark arrestor.
👉 Where does this apply? Unincorporated areas of Washington County. (This does not affect private lands inside incorporated town or city limits).
⚠️ The Stakes are High: Violating these restrictions is a state law violation punishable by up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000. County law enforcement will be strictly enforcing these rules.
Let's all use our to keep Washington County safe this season. 🔥❌
