The HCPD Office is closed today July 24th and will reopen on Monday, July 27th.
Our officers are still on duty and available.

🎆 Good news, Hurricane!🎆

Fireworks ARE allowed for the 24th of July in Hurricane City's preapproved discharge areas!

After the restrictions for the 4th of July, we know many of you were disappointed. Thanks for hanging in there and helping keep our community safe during the higher fire risk. Now, with conditions allowing it, it's time to celebrate responsibly!

📍 Before you light the fuse, make sure you're in one of the City's preapproved discharge locations:
Spilsbury Park ball fields
American Legion ball field
Three Falls Park
Dixie Springs Park

A few friendly reminders:
🎆 Use only legal fireworks.
🌾 Discharge fireworks ONLY in designated public spaces.
🪣 Keep a bucket of water or hose nearby.
🧹 Clean up debris when you're finished.
❤️ Be respectful of neighbors, pets, and veterans who may be sensitive to loud noises.
Let's make this a celebration to remember for the fireworks, not for calling the fire department. 😉

Tonight our department proudly celebrated a well‑deserved promotion to Sergeant Atkinson. He was surrounded by an incredible show of support from family, friends, and fellow officers — a true reflection of the respect he’s earned through his dedication and service.

We’re grateful for his leadership and excited to see him step into this new role. Well done, Sergeant Atkinson!

🌧️ Hurricane City PSA: Keep Your Yard Off the Waterfront Market

Monsoon season is almost here! (Assuming Mother Nature remembers Southern Utah this year.)

If the rain decides to make up for lost time, don't let your front yard become the neighborhood's newest community pool, or your driveway become the city's newest boat launch.

The good news? Hurricane City has FREE sandbags to help keep the water where it belongs.

🛍️Step 1: Pick Up Empty Sandbags

Grab them at:

🪣 Step 2: Fill 'Em Up

Take them to any City sand pile location:
🚒 Fire Station 42
📍 700 W & 400 S intersection
⚾ 200 W by the ball fields
🐾 Hurricane Animal Shelter
🌴 Dixie Springs (3400 W)

A little preparation today can help prevent:

🏊 Your yard from becoming the neighborhood splash pad.
🛶 Using a canoe to take the trash to the curb.
🦆 Ducks filing a claim on your flower beds.
🛋️ Your patio furniture attempting an unauthorized trip downstream.
🚮 Your garbage can introducing itself to the neighbors three blocks away.

Please take only what you need so everyone has the chance to protect their property. This is a sandbag distribution, not an audition for the county's largest sandbox (we already have that).

Stay safe, stay prepared, and may the only thing floating in your yard this summer be compliments from your neighbors.

Community members may see emergency vehicles and personnel in the area, but this is only a training exercise.
