* Hotel California by the Eagles *
On a dark desert evening
Cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of Dorito's
Wafting up through the air
If you look in the distance
You'll see a shimmering light
My lamp is bright and my pages turn
I'm up reading through the night
There she stood at the front desk
And she asked for my card
And I was thinking to myself
This could be easy or this could be hard
Then she looked up the title
And she showed me the way
There were voices down the shelving rows
I thought I heard them say:
Welcome to your Public Library!
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Read at your pace
Plenty of room at your Public Library
Any time of year (any time of year)
You can find us here
My mind is fantasy-twisted
She got the romances on lend
With all of the pretty, pretty boys
They're her book boyfriends.
I read in the courtyard
Sweet summer breeze
Water bottle placed nearby
Book set on my knees
So I called the library,
"Read to me line by line"
They said, "We haven't had that title here since 1969"
And still those voices are calling from far away
Bug me right in the middle of me page
Just to hear them say:
Welcome to your Public Library!
Such a lovely place (such a lovely place)
Read at your pace
Plenty of room at your Public Library
Any time of year (any time of year)
