These are important tips for ALL Washington County residents and we’re thankful for the collaborative efforts between all electric entities in the power restoration efforts yesterday!
While work is still ongoing for grid stability, please do your part to assist! Conserving energy during the peak part of the day will help! We appreciate our community who shows time and again that they care for each other and will do their part to help each other! Hurricane City is a pretty special place! Thank you!

🔴⚡ RED DAY TODAY — PLEASE CONSERVE ENERGY BETWEEN 3:00–7:00 PM! ⚡🔴

Due to the recent power issues with PacifiCorp, we are asking everyone to please conserve energy as much as possible, especially between 3:00–7:00 PM, while they work to get things repaired and back to normal.

Every little bit helps! ❤️ During this time, if possible, please:

🏠 Turn off unnecessary lights
🌡️ Adjust your thermostat a few degrees
🧺 Delay washing, drying, and running the dishwasher
🔌 Turn off or unplug equipment you aren’t using

Reducing energy use during these peak hours will help lower the demand on the electrical system while repairs are being made.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and help! Together, we can help keep our community powered. 🔴⚡

9:40 pm: As of now, all Hurricane Power residents should be back in power! You may now turn on your Air Conditioning. Thank you for your assistance as we stabilized our service area! If you continue to experience any outage in the Hurricane Power area, please call our on call phone at 435-668-5612.

8:49 pm: As additional circuits come online PLEASE be mindful of power conservation. We would really like to get as many residents back in power as possible! Please continue to keep your Air Conditioning off at this time.

7:56 pm: DO NOT use Air Conditioning at this time! Either turn off your AC breaker OR turn your AC units off when power is restored. Please use only essential items like refrigerators, freezers, and medical equipment. There is limited availability of resources and we would like to avoid another full outage. We will update this status when the situation changes! We appreciate your assistance!

7:31 pm: Our downtown circuits may begin coming online to provide important loads and turn on the majority of streetlights in the downtown area. No ETA on a full restoration still.

7:18 pm: We are in communication with other county officials and power leaders in coordinating efforts to bring power online as it becomes available.

PLEASE UNPLUG any critical electronics!

Also, in an effort to NOT overwhelm the grid as we make an attempt to slowly bring on load throughout the county as becomes available, please turn OFF your air conditioning temporarily!!!

6:48 pm: Please do not make any phone calls to 911 unless you need emergency services or have an actual emergency. By doing so unnecessarily you tie up much needed resources for emergencies that are happening.

Remember when you come to a traffic signal that is not working treat it as a four-way stop. Right now is the time to drive as safe as possible without traffic signals working.

Multiples agencies are in communication to resolve the issue. We will continue to update as more information continues to be made available.

5:45 pm: There is a county-wide power outage caused by an issue with the transmission system feeding Washington County. At this time we do not have an estimated time of restoration. We are actively working with our transmission provider to find out more information to provide updates. Keep an eye on this page.
THANK YOU for your patience and understanding!

OUTAGE: 8/27/26 5:15 pm. We are aware of a widespread power outage affecting all of Washington County including all of Hurricane. Updates will be provided as more information is available.

07/18/2026

Update for Power outage in the Sky Ranch area. Crews have been working all morning to locate an underground fault. As of 12:35 pm all power has been restored. We would like to thank you for your patience in this matter.

11:40 am - Everyone should be back in power. No apparent cause was ever discovered for the burned equipment. There were conflicting reports of potential causes, but nothing was able to be confirmed.

11:01 am - The majority of power has been restored. However, there is one transformer providing services near 1300 S and 180 W that is still out of service. Our crew is on site doing some investigation and repair to some burned equipment found at that site. No known cause at this time.

10:40 am - We have received reports of a power outage in the southern portion of Hurricane Valley including Sycamore Lane (1300 South) and most areas south of that. We have crews on the way to investigate and updates will be provided as they are available.
