Christian Community Cupboard

Christian Community Cupboard The Christian Community Cupboard is a food pantry providing a 5-7 day supplemental food supply. Our service area is Putnam Co south of the Kanawha River.

We are open from 9 am to 12 pm every Tuesday and Friday weekly. Our service area is Putnam County SOUTH of the Kanawha River. We are open from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm every Tuesday and Friday excluding some holidays. Please bring a picture ID each time you visit. We use USDA federal income guidelines (self-report.) Clients may visit the pantry once each month. Please come if you could use our services

and refer or bring along others in our service area you know in need of short-term food help, as well. The Christian Community Cupboard operates as a non-profit collaboration of churches across the Teays Valley Area. We are staffed fully by volunteers and love to have new volunteers get involved either through their local church or by calling the Cupboard to learn more. We are able to operate because of the generosity and support of our many partners across the community -- local churches, businesses, individuals, community organizations, the Facing Hunger Food Bank, and USDA. These partners provide funds, donated foods, undertake food drives or events on behalf of the Cupboard, donate garden produce, etc. We love our volunteers and partners! Without you our services would not be possible! The Christian Community Cupboard is an Equal Opportunity Provider of Services.

Is it cold? Yep!! Is there ice everywhere? Yep!! Are the grocery shelves limited? Yep!! So, for those eligible clients living SOUTH of the Kanawha River in Putnam Counth, the Community Cupboard will be OPEN tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27 from 9:00 am until 12:00 noon to refill YOUR cupboard with supplemental food. Roads in Hurricane are open along with I-64 which is clear and open.
We’re waiting for you tomorrow!!

Today is TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30,2025 and the Cupboard is OPEN for business! The Hurricane streets are clear as is I-64 and the weather at the Cupboard is great (at least we’re pretending that way!!).
Come and see us and be prepared for New Year’s Eve and the New Year!!
We’ll be serving until 12:00 noon today!!

Even though Putnam County schools decide to close school today…..at 7:00 am after posting a 2-hour delay(??), THE CUPBOARD WILL BE OPEN TODAY AS USUAL, December 9, 2025!!

My oh my!! Another surprise came to the Community Cupboard from Coca Cola Consolidated! For the second straight year the Cupboard has been awarded a grant from Coca Cola…..this year for $2,000! We really appreciate the community support and relationship between Community Cupboard and Coca Cola AND, it’s been made possible due to board member Gayle Berry and her outreach!

Two big events at the Cupboard this past week! FIRST, Hurricane High School conducted an all grade food drive competition and recently delivered over 3,000 cans and boxes of food to help stock the Cupboard shelves. Thanks Principal Caldwell and students for your support.
SECOND, Farmers Bank & Savings on Teays Valley Road held a food drive and delivered multiple buggy’s and boxes of food! Thanks to Farmers and their customers!!
