I guess the lawmakers who laid prostrate for these Data Center companies really are cheap dates. If there really is nothing we can do to stop them, at the very least we need heavy regulations and much more in the way of tax revenue from them.

I don’t blame Kathie Hess Crouse for turning off the comments on this post. Her and her delegation are asking the Governor for money, when the legislature, which consist of her and the rest of the delegation, could have funded our crumbling roads years ago.

Now that it’s a couple of months away from election day, they are just now acting like they care about the roads. I’ve been out there for two years, working with the DOH to do what repairs they can with what little money they got from the legislature.

Hey Eric Tarr, I thought you said at the meet the candidate event that you all gave $750 million dollars to fix the roads? You lied, that was just their annual operating budget.

If you are one of her constituents, vote for Nolan Rose for West Virginia. He will vote to fund the roads.

The difference in fundraising between Fetty Anderson and Republican U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito is substantial. Fetty Anderson has raised $35,012.38 for her campaign, with 87.46% of the money coming from contributors in West Virginia. Capito has raised $8,745,971.26, with 7.52% coming from West Virginia contributors.

This is what happens when county commissioners and legislators accept “trust me bro” when it comes from rich people who give them money. They did zero research into this.

If the Putnam County Commission would’ve even remotely looked into Flock, they’d have known about the many cities that put bags over them to protect their citizens from them - after paying out millions in lawsuits to wrongly accused citizens due to Flock using AI for identification. What was more troubling was how prosecutors and police took the Flock data as gospel, shifting the burden of proof of innocence onto the citizen.

We need younger people in government. We have boomers in office who don’t understand the technology they’re dealing with and giving many of these companies a blank check to do whatever they want.
