Mrs. Crane's 8th-grade Project Read students brought Edgar Allan Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart to life through a Mock Trial! Students took on roles as prosecution and defense attorneys, witnesses, and other courtroom officials as they presented arguments, questioned witnesses, analyzed evidence from the text, and worked to convince the court of their case.
This hands-on activity challenged students to think critically, develop persuasive arguments, practice public speaking, and collaborate with their peers. Students put their knowledge of the story to the test as they examined the narrator’s actions, credibility, and guilt.
The verdict? A fantastic opportunity to put reading, writing, speaking, and critical-thinking skills into action! Great work, Crusaders! ⚖️📚
