Reminder: Monthly Meeting Tomorrow

This is a reminder about our regularly scheduled monthly meeting. We’ll be gathering in the Justice Theatre at 6:30 PM.

We will have two guest speakers joining us to share information about their backgrounds and experiences:

Colin McRoberts — Candidate for U.S. House, Kansas’ Big 1st District

Colin is a lawyer and negotiation specialist whose work has involved complex problem‑solving for businesses, unions, and government organizations. He lives in Lawrence and teaches negotiation and business law at the University of Kansas.

Noah Taylor — Candidate for U.S. Senate

Noah is an Army infantry veteran from El Dorado who served in Afghanistan. He lives in Kechi with his two children and has spoken publicly about issues affecting Kansas families and communities.

We look forward to an informative evening and hope you can join us.

This mighty group has collected dozens of signatures from Hutch, Buhler and Inman so I can file by petition for Kansas House District 104. Notarized at Reno County Election office that we witnessed the signatures. Next stop Topeka KS Secretary of State Building to file!

Lauren Reinhold will be in Hutchinson for a meet and greet. She’s an attorney of 28 years, a longtime federal employee, and has spent more than 25 years helping Kansas families navigate federal systems and advocating for workers and rural communities.

Lauren is running for Congress in Kansas’ First Congressional District, currently represented by Republican Tracy Mann. The First District — often called the “Big First” — covers nearly all of western and much of central Kansas. It’s one of the largest districts in the country, rooted in agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and small‑town life. Communities here value hard work, self‑reliance, and leaders who understand rural realities up close.

Sharing in case anyone wants to stop by, hear her story, or learn more about the race.

Erik is a lifelong Kansan who grew up in Wyandotte County, inspired by parents who worked in public education and economic development. He went on to build multimillion‑dollar businesses focused on creating jobs and revitalizing communities that have long been overlooked.

As he travels the state, Erik has heard from Kansans facing rising housing and healthcare costs, rural hospitals at risk, and communities struggling due to decisions made in Washington. He is running for U.S. Senate with a focus on delivering meaningful change for working families and ensuring every Kansas community has the opportunity to thrive.

Join us for an engaging evening with fellow Democrats as we welcome our featured speaker, Jason Hart. Jason Hart is a lifelong Kansan whose upbringing in Russell, Beloit, Wellington, and Dodge City shaped his love for the people and communities of the Sunflower State. From an early age, his family opened their home to foster children, inspiring a lifelong commitment to public service and justice.

For more than 20 years, he's been prosecuting child-exploitation offenders, pulling them out of towns all over Kansas including Hutchinson, Baxter Springs, Belvue, Cherryvale, Ellis, Inman, St. Francis, Spearville, Meade, Marquette, Iola, Lyons, Lindsborg, Larned, Syracuse, Liberal, Augusta, Marion, Clearwater, Derby, El Dorado, Hutchinson, Dodge City, Garden City, Salina, Manhattan, Topeka, Wichita, Kansas City, and the list goes on and on. He plans to go to the US Senate to prosecute and reboot (we can't do policy until we remove the bad actors), claim and reframe the narrative of the Democratic party (as the party of law and order on actually violent crimes), and force Republicans to choose, or refuse, the prosecutor of pedofiles.

Is your voter registration up to date for the March 3, 2026 Special Election? The City of Hutchinson has a city sales tax question that will appear on the March 3, 2026 ballot.

Deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, Feb. 10th
Register online: Go to Reno County Election link in first comment.
Register in person: Click on Reno County Election link for a printable Voter Registration Application and Instructions that you can fill out, print, sign, and mail or drop by the election office at your convenience.

Voter Registration Deadline: Feb. 10th
Ballots will begin to be mailed out on Feb. 11th
Advance Voting in-person will begin on Feb. 23rd in the Reno County Annex Conference Room - 125 W. 1st Ave, Hutchinson. Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm. Advance Voting will close on March 2nd at noon.
