What an incredible demonstration of talent at HES! 🌟

Earlier this week, our students absolutely amazed the audience with their courage, creativity, and hard work. From powerful singers, talented pianists, drummers, and guitarists to entertaining ventriloquism, energetic tumblers, skilled martial artists, an ASL tutorial, and a beautiful hula dance — the variety of talent on our stage was truly inspiring!

We are so proud of every student who stepped into the spotlight and shared their gifts with our school community. Thank you to our families, staff, and supporters who helped make this event such a success!

We couldn’t be more proud of our campus end-of-year award recipients! Each one consistently goes above and beyond for our students, families, and fellow staff members. Their dedication, passion, and love for our little hippos make HES such a special place to learn and grow. 💜🦛✨

A special shoutout to Mrs. Trent for earning the incredible honor of District Teacher of the Year! She is truly one of a kind — patient, understanding, compassionate, and always holding her littlest hippos accountable for both their learning and their actions. Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom, and we are so lucky to have her representing HES.

The year may be winding down, but our kindergartners are still learning in BIG ways!

This week, they went WILD 🦁🌿 as students researched amazing animals and created spectacular handmade habitat dioramas. From jungles to oceans to deserts, these young learners showed off their creativity, curiosity, and hard work through every detail of their projects.

We are so proud of their imagination and dedication to learning all the way to the finish line! 💚✨

Yesterday we celebrated our amazing 5th graders as they closed one chapter and prepared to begin another! 🎓✨

These students have grown into leaders, role models, and resilient learners during their time at HES. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and the memories they have made along the way.

As they head off to middle school, we know they will continue to do incredible things and represent HES with pride. Once a Hippo, always a Hippo! 💙

What a joy it has been to watch these students grow this year through learning, laughter, friendships, and countless milestones. From learning letters and numbers to becoming confident leaders and readers, they have accomplished so much!

What an Incredible Field Day! ☀️🎉

Last Friday, our students had an absolute blast participating in all of the exciting games, challenges, and activities throughout the day. From laughter and teamwork to friendly competition and endless smiles, it was a day full of fun and memories that will last all summer long!

What a way to wrap up the year! 🎉🥎

The annual End-of-Year 5th Grade Kickball Tournament came down to an exciting championship matchup between Mrs. Pierce’s and Mrs. Miller’s classes. In the end, Mrs. Pierce’s homeroom claimed the victory — ending Mrs. Miller’s impressive 4-year championship streak! Congratulations to both teams on a great game!

We are so proud of ALL of our 5th grade students for demonstrating leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, and a willingness to step outside their comfort zones throughout the tournament. What a fun tradition and an unforgettable way to celebrate the end of elementary school! 💙🦛
