Hutto Parents,

The Hutto Police Department would like to congratulate all graduating students, as well as their parents and guardians, on this significant accomplishment and milestone.

The Hutto Police Department has become aware of a party being promoted to local teenagers through social media that appears to encourage excessive alcohol consumption. Information regarding the event is currently circulating among Hutto High School students. According to the promotional material, the gathering is scheduled to begin late Friday evening, May 22.

Similar to previous events involving illegal activity that resulted in violence and other public safety concerns, the exact location of the party is reportedly being withheld until approximately one hour prior to its start time. This tactic appears intended to prevent intervention by law enforcement or responsible adults before the event begins.

In the interest of transparency and community safety, the Hutto Police Department is sharing this information so parents and guardians can remain informed and have conversations with their children as graduation weekend approaches.

Our goal is for everyone to enjoy a safe and positive graduation weekend โ€” free from injuries, criminal activity, or unnecessary consequences. The Hutto Police Department, along with surrounding law enforcement agencies, are proactively addressing this matter to help ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

We encourage parents and community members to report information related to unsafe or unlawful gatherings. Early reporting can help prevent dangerous situations and keep our community safe.

The police non-emergency number is 512-846-2200 or call 911 for in progress emergencies. 7605

We've seen some resident concerns about the police presence near Brushy Creek. This activity is not related to the recent incident in Austin/Manor. The reported activity was a target shooting in a rural area outside of city limits. There is no danger to the public and no cause for concern in our community.
