Huxley Fire and Rescue Huxley Fire and Rescue provides Fire, EMS, and Ambulance services. We are a volunteer department with paid-on-call staff for our Ambulance service.

The Fire Department serves the eastern half of Palestine Township - to include the City of Huxley. Our EMS Division and Ambulance also serves the Palestine Township - to include the City of Huxley and the City of Slater. We are on-call 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. We run over 300 calls for service per year. We are ALWAYS looking for people interested in joining Huxley Fire and Rescue! Please

Attention Ballard Community! Huxley Fire and Rescue in coordination with neighboring departments, will be conducting a training burn this week on Saturday, June 6th at 29509 US 69 just north of Huxley.

We will be performing live fire search and rescue drills in the early morning starting around 7am and will then complete the house burn after drills. We hope to be wrapped by around 1pm.

Please join us in congratulating Joseph on earning his Firefighter I Certification! Many people know Joe as a finance/accounting professional, but around our department he's become known for something else—his dedication to serving others.

Over the past five months, Joe has invested countless hours in training, studying, drills, and hands-on experience to reach this important milestone. This achievement reflects not only his hard work and determination, but also the support, guidance, and mentorship he received from fellow firefighters, instructors, family, and friends along the way.

Firefighting is a team effort, and he embraced every opportunity to learn from those around him.
From balancing his career during the day to answering emergency calls and training in his free time, he has shown an incredible commitment to our department and community.

His positive attitude, willingness to help, and dedication to continuous learning make him a valued member of our team. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-earned accomplishment!

Today Huxley Fire and Rescue had the privilege of escorting two Ballard West students, Isaac and Warren to their last day of school.

The boys were very respectful and on cloud 9 when they hopped on-board our engine. They both enjoyed a donut on the way to school and were very happy to see all of their friends cheering them on!

Huxley Fire and Rescue wants to introduce you to our newest crew member, Josh Hoffman!

Born in Colorado, Josh moved to Nebraska where he completed his schooling, he then made the great choice and moved to Iowa to join all of us.

Josh is an EMT and is Firefighter I and Hazmat certified. Josh is also a crew member on the Nevada Fire Department. He's currently going to school to become a Paramedic and is also studying for his Firefighter II certification. He was introduced and became interested in EMS and Fire by one of his buddies. Josh loves being there for both the patients and their families.
