NEW Fire Engineering blog cartoon: Heart of a Warrior

Firefighters may hang up their gear, but they never hang up their warrior hearts. The courage, grit, and brotherhood stay lit long after the last alarm. If you know retired firefighters, invite them back for coffee, events, or kitchen table Story Time at the station. You’ll be amazed at what you learn from their experience—and you’ll warm the hearts of these former lions who still feel the call to hunt, serve, and protect.

STAY FIRED UP and appreciate and honor their service, wisdom, and laughter.

More wins in Annapolis to help the firefighters of Maryland! This bill allows first responders the ability to seek treatment for PTSD and provides a safer alternative than using opioids. Thanks to the Professional Fire Fighters of Maryland and all those involved in assisting with this bill.

Boy!….This Department would sure be a lot different if you were still here running the show from the shadows, both corporate and county wide. You definitely wasn’t shy to tell me when you disagreed with me and I would most definitely consider you point of view. You were a most valuable person in the entire Fire Service with no one I know ever commenting anything negative in reference to you. In fact, still today as I mention your name, people smile or start laughing. You were definitely God sent for a reason and taken so quickly for a reason as well. We will never, ever forget you and will continue to watch over Christy (the package @ Greenbelt) for you!
Love you always Buddy!!
