Ally Theatre Company's Welcome to Sis's — Joe's Movement Emporium

Welcome to Sis's returns to Joe's Movement Emporium this weekend!

Come be a part of our "Mapping Racism" program and learn about Sis's Tavern, a historic North Brentwood music hall HCDC is rehabilitating, where Duke Ellington and Pearl Bailey would drop in after their D.C. shows.

You will also be supporting our friends at the Ally Theatre Company - many of whom live in Hyattsville!

It’s Friday night in North Brentwood and anybody who’s anybody knows the spot to be is Sis’s Tavern. Sis, Margaret, Willie, and Sterling are all on hand to prep for a busy night, but when James doesn’t show on time, tensions begin to rise.

The Riverdale Park Public Art Initiative seeks five (5) sculptures of various styles and sizes to display for a one year-long placement, at pre-determined, publicly-accessible sites within the Town of Riverdale Park. As part of The Town’s plan to create an engaging, publicly accessible outdoor sculpture gallery across its many neighborhoods, we seek site-appropriate sculptural work fitting of each chosen location. All sites have an existing installed concrete footer/pad, specifically designed to accommodate a range of sizes of work and a variety of bases.
