Southwest Boston Community Development Corporation works to build and sustain a thriving, economically diverse community in Hyde Park and Roslindale. We work to prevent displacement (particularly of low-income and elderly residents), create and preserve affordable housing, strengthen the commercial base of the neighborhoods, ensure access to good transit and protect and preserve green spaces to make our communities more climate resilient. The Hyde Park Historical Society and Historic Boston Inc.’s Brooks Library acquisition and rehabilitation project in Readville, in partnership with SW BOston CDC is pleased to announce the property transfer from Blue Hill Community Church to Historic Boston Inc. will soon be finalized.

With funding assistance from the City’s Community Preservation Act, this is a major milestone in our shared efforts to fulfill the original 1897 gift from Mrs. Ellen Stetson and return the Brooks Library to community use.

To mark the occasion, we will be having a Community Open House and neighborhood “before” photo on:
