The current Sheriff is Roger Marcoux Jr.We provide law enforcement services to Johnson, Hyde Park, Wolcott and traffic enforcement to the town of Elmore. Our Communications Center provides dispatching and 911 services to all the towns in Lamoille County, as well as Hardwick, Greensboro and Barre Town.

On 08/01/26, Fabian Barup, 56, who is homeless, was transported to Northeast Correction Center in St. Johnsbury on charges including Violation of Conditions of Release. Barup will appear at Lamoille County Superior Court on 08/19/26 at 1230, to answer the charges.

On 08/20/26, Breana L. Keogh, 21, of Greensboro, VT, was arrested and released on charges of Criminal DLS. Keogh will appear on Oct 07, 2026, at 1230 to answer the charges.

Press Release:

On June 12, 2026, Deputies from the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department responded to a residence on Collins Hill Road, in Johnson. Deputies stood by while Vermont Electric Cooperative disconnected power that was illegally re-energized. On July 22, 2026, Deputies again responded to a residence on Collins Hill Road in to stand by while Vermont Electric Cooperative disconnected power that was illegally re-energized.

As a result of the investigation, James Mason, 48, of Johnson, Vermont, was charged with Theft of services. Mason is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on September 02, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.

On July 31, 2026, Deputies from the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department were notified of a Citizen Dispute in Johnson.

As a result of the investigation, Duane Delisle, 56, of Johnson, Vermont, was charged with Violation of Conditions of Release. Delisle is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on August 05, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

On July 27, 2026, Deputies from the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department were notified of a motor vehicle incident on VT Route 15, in Wolcott, Vermont.

As a result of the investigation, Eathan McGuire, 18, of Morrisville, Vermont, was charged with; Negligent Operation, Reckless Endangerment, Criminal Threatening, Disorderly Conduct, and False Information To A Police Officer. McGuire is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on September 02, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

Additionally, Hans Wein 40, of Hyde Park, Vermont, was charged with Disorderly Conduct. Hans is scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on September 02, 2026 at 12:30 p.m.

Hyde Park Burglary Arrest

On July 26, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m., deputies from the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department, along with officers from the Morristown Police Department, Vermont State Police, Stowe Police Department, and the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department, responded to a reported burglary in progress at 686 Garfield Road in Hyde Park, Vermont.

As a result of the investigation, Austin Morin, 24, of Morrisville, Vermont, was taken into custody and transported to the Lamoille County Sheriff's Department for processing.

Morin was charged with Burglary with a Deadly Weapon and was lodged at the Northeast correctional facility in lieu of $5,000 bail.

Morin was scheduled to appear in Lamoille County Superior Court on July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On July 22, 2026, Travis Ward of Albany, was issued a citation on the charges of Violating Conditions of Release (curfew). Ward will appear at Lamoille County Superior Court on July 29, 2026, at 1230 hours to answer to the charges.

Aaron Lambert, 48, of Johnson, VT, was arrested and issued a citation to appear in Lamoille County Court on 09/02/2026 to answer to the charge of Criminal Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

Kaleb Earle, age 25, homeless, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Mischief and Providing False Information to a police officer. Earle will appear in Lamoille Court on 09/02/2026 to answer to the charges. Earle was lodged at the Northeast Correctional Facility on an unrelated arrest warrant.
