ICY UPDATE !!
We have a two part CITY WIDE mess, and here’s how we plan to handle it..
PART 1 : Ice and Snow
Last time i was able to push the snow up in piles and haul it off.
This time we got too much ice and we’ve tried, but cant get under it to push it. We can move some off the top but then theres still 1 to 2 inches of frozen ice stuck to the streets and parking lots. I put about 75 tons of sand and salt mixed out on intersections and hills last night. The new precipitation after midnight covered it all.
Hopefully it will begin to melt as temp rises a bit. BE SAFE !!
PART 2 : Trees and limbs
They’re down on just about every neighborhood street and every yard.
If you have limbs in your yard, get them close to the street but not impeding traffic, not on water meters, not on, or close to gas meters nor other utilities or fences. It would be best to wait until ice has melted off. Looks like it should start melting off Wednesday. We will give everyone a few days to get it put out, while we are cutting tops away from streets. We can’t pick everyone’s up at once, so please be patient with us. We will quadrant off the city
NW-NE-SW-and SE . This order is least debris to the most, and i will use this order to allow you in the most damaged areas, more time to get your piles ready for pick up.
PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY TRASH OR BOARDS OF ANY KIND in your pile, we can’t burn it.
If we see trash or boards in your pile, it will be left.
There will be NO LIST, so there is no need for you to call the Street Department or CityHall to report your pile, as we will be doing a city wide sweep .
We will work the city by the said quarters, in full force. Once we pass through your area, we won’t be back until we’ve completed our initial sweep of the city.
After we’ve completed the city wide sweep, you will then need to call the Street Department @ 580-286-3438 , to have your pile put on a list for pickup .
Thank You !
