⚠️ Temporary Area Closure Near Crooked Summit ⚠️

For the safety of firefighters working in the area, several turn-offs near Crooked Summit in the Robie Creek area will be temporarily closed.

We want to be clear: this is not because people have been doing anything wrong. We understand this area is commonly used for recreational shooting, and under normal circumstances that’s perfectly lawful.

However, with the significant increase in wildland firefighting operations, there are now firefighters working throughout the timber, often in areas that may not be visible from the road. Our goal is simple: make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of the day.

These temporary closures are being put in place to prevent the possibility of someone unknowingly shooting into an area where firefighters are actively working.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and cooperation while crews continue their efforts. Once firefighting activity has decreased and the area is safe, these turn-offs will be reopened.

Thank you for helping us protect the men and women working hard to keep our communities safe.
