The giant "chia pets" are back!

Our Parks & Recreation team is placing the City's beloved topiary animals along both sides of the River Walk today and tomorrow, bringing a little extra fun and greenery to your summer strolls.

As you walk, bike, or enjoy the riverfront, see how many animals you can spot. Each topiary will continue to grow and change throughout the season, making every visit a little different from the last.

These unique living sculptures are one of the many special touches our Parks & Recreation team creates to help make Idaho Falls a beautiful and enjoyable place to spend time outdoors.

Be sure to keep an eye out for your favorite topiary this summer and let us know which one you find first!

Attention Community Park visitors: Park pathways will be undergoing maintenance this Friday and Saturday, June 19th and 20th.

Our Parks & Recreation team will be seal coating the walking paths to help preserve and protect them for year-round use. During this work, we ask all park visitors to avoid walking on the pathways and instead use alternate routes around the work areas.

Please do not walk on freshly coated paths. The seal coating needs time to dry and cure properly, and foot traffic can damage the surface before it is ready for use.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to keep Community Park safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyone!

Join us for FREE Movies in the Park throughout the summer, hosted by Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation and presented by ICCU, in Freeman Park and Central Park. It’s a great opportunity to gather with family, friends, and neighbors for an evening of games, food, and fun under the stars!

The season kicks off this Friday, June 19, at Freeman Park with Zootopia 2. Hot dogs will be provided by Idaho Falls Fiber, and beverages and chips will be available thanks to ICCU.

Food service begins 1 hour before sunset, and the movie starts 30 minutes after sunset. Be sure to bring a blanket or low back chair and settle in for a fun summer evening.

Many hands make light work!

Over the course of two evenings, more than 150 volunteers came together to help beautify and improve Ryder Park through a community service project organized by Just Serve and the Idaho Falls Parks & Recreation Department.

Yesterday evening, volunteers from Just Serve and South Fork Disc Golf rolled up their sleeves to lay approximately 5,000 square feet of sod and refresh several landscape beds by weeding, cleaning, and adding bark.

Their hard work and generosity are helping keep Ryder Park looking its best and ensuring this community gathering space can be enjoyed for years to come. Thank you to all the volunteers who donated their time and effort to make Idaho Falls an even better place to live, play, and gather!
