This week's op-ed is something I feel must be discussed more regularly within the political discourse of this election season. The difference between surface level populism and a strong political stance of populism and collectivism aimed at the welfare of the people. You all have heard people say left leaning policies aren't popular in Idaho, so we should leave and go somewhere where they are. I argue that the frustration so many on both sides of the political spectrum come from one of two things. Either populism with no true direction of policy, or a populist collectivism that directs power to the few and away from the masses. Both are harmful and both are destroying Idaho's working class.

Today marks the start of early voting. I would like to encourage every person to not fall into the traps that our state has fallen into time and time again. This is a time for change, an opportunity for growth, and a Chance for working class families across the state. This primary I ask that voters snub the Republican primaries in place for the open democratic primaries. I ask that you look for real true change not the same status quo that has been pushed upon Idaho voters for so long. I ask that we use our democratic freedoms to make a true stand in opposition to tyranny and show that there is a better solution.

A time of change is at hand, the chance for Idaho falls to see the conditions of working class Families improve is everything we are working towards with this campaign!

To all of you who have already donated thank you so much, as the primaries draw near our effort is going full steam ahead. It is my least favorite thing about politics having to ask for money. That being said we need some additional funds coming in. What for you may ask? It is all going toward outreach, voter engagement, and literature! ***Please Read***

I wanted to take a moment to post my public endorsement for Durand for Idaho for governor in the Democratic Parties Primary Race. I have worked with Maxine extensively and consider her one of the most genuine people I have ever met.

She is a politician that truly lives up to the title of public servant and is dedicated to being real solutions and help to working class Idaho families.

I have nothing against Terri but it is a fact that Maxine has spent significantly more time on this side of the state hearing from SE Idaho residents. I truly believe that Maxine offers a real solution of opposition not the same old status quo.

Our state needs real change focused on the people not corporations, and I know that Maxine agrees with that stance. If your hesitancy is surrounding Maxine's gender identity or whether her left leaning political stance can win I will leave you with this. We live in a constitutional Republic where our government is supposed to put the people and their needs first above all else. It is a form of government where even the most marginalized communities can find representation. I believe this is exactly what Maxine represents!
