Celebrate Winnie-the-Pooh’s 100th Birthday! Come join us for a honey-filled birthday celebration for everyone’s favorite bear!

We’ll have food from Rabbit’s Garden and Pooh’s Yummy Honey Pot! Then we’ll play Winnie-the-Pooh Bingo and enjoy fun Crafts with good friends & Family Fun!

What an engaging, interesting, & informative meeting. How refreshing to have community input valued, hear genuine feedback, and enjoy such a positive exchange. We all shared and learned so much connecting with some of our favorite every day heroes! 🧑‍🚒👮🧑‍🌾

Next month you get another chance to enjoy open forum discussions and dialogue to help them out. Help us all out really since they have among one of the most challenging jobs out here. We need firemen all the time, it's not too often they need us so step up lol. Always support and take care of those who take care of us. Be sure to pick one of these sessions that suits your schedule and attend. We also took a few of their questionnaires for Freedom's Fire community coffee time up at the TARA Community Center if you would like to fill one out for them.

It occurs to me lots of ppl thank veterans, but when is the last time you thanked a fire fighter? I've been saying this awhile now and I will continue saying it. It's time to put ppl first, & make gratefulness a priority. I don't feel like we can ever say this enough, so once again...

There is a very small fire above Lemon Reservoir and below the Transfer Park Campground it was reported about 9:30. Upper Pine units responded and have turned the fire over to the USFS. A BIG THANK YOU to Marion Kelly for letting us access her property. Having someone who homesteaded that area who knows it like the back of her hand is a great asset to firefighters. The USFS has this, it is on Watch Duty as the Young Canyon Fire. A lot of rain up there and it is on the edge of the Missionary Ridge burn scare. The Mark Twain Forest crew and a support engine from Grand Junction Fire are working it. We worked with the Mark Twain crew on the CR 502 Fire, this crew is excellent. As Mark Twain said, “Thunder is good, thunder is impressive; but it is lightning that does the work” or in this case creates the work.

Looking ahead to September, our Road and Bridge Department is going to pave CR 500, starting on September 21. It will most likely take about four weeks to complete, but you know our crews like to get things done! 💪
