We have been sitting on some pretty amazing news! Congratulations to both Mrs. Mollie Gaddis and Mrs. Nicole Burkhalter as they were recognized by the Georgia Department of Education as Literacy Leaders. During the 2024-2025 school year, 3rd grade students in their classes displayed a 5% increase in the number of students identified as reading on or above grade level. This type of percentage increase is difficult because the number of Ila students reading at or above grade level was already above 70%. Thanks to both Mrs. Gaddis and Mrs. Burkhalter for moving the needle and improving student achievement above and beyond!! Ila is the first school in Madison County to have received the Literacy Leader Award! 🐊🏅💚🐊

Our fifth grade student leadership team met for their October meeting this morning. After a few housekeeping tasks, this team practiced different leadership traits, like good communication, sharing, ideas, and rebounding from mistakes with some group games.
