The Illiopolis/Niantic Public Library District summer reading program is open to readers of all ages! Sign up now!
We’ve made reading simpler by eliminating time-consuming book logs. Simply tell us in July that you either read or listened to a book, and you’ll be entered into a drawing for over 10 prizes! The self-paced program runs from June 1 through July 1.
Programs we will be offering:
Wednesday, June 3 at 11:00 a.m.
The Macon County Conservation District will present Ready, Set, Grow! Children will learn about the parts of a plant and why they are important. Each child will receive a germinated seed to plant and take home.
Tuesday, June 9 at 6:00 p.m.
Adult Program — The The Pot Stand Plant Bingo
Like traditional bingo, but instead of cash prizes, participants will play to win live houseplants! Throughout the evening, several rounds will be played while participants learn fun plant facts and care tips between rounds.
Reservations are required for this program, which is limited to 15 participants who reside within our library district. A waiting list for non-residents will be available for $25 in the event openings occur. If enough interest is shown, we may host a second evening.

The Macon County Conservation District will present Poke-Lab: All About Grass Types. Children will learn about pollination and the important roles plants play through the lens of the Pokémon world.
