Spartan Families,

As we near the end of our second week of the 2026-27 school year, we would like to take the opportunity to encourage every ICS family to complete the Education Benefits Form for their family. Completing the form takes less than five minutes and helps establish the funding for many state and federal programs, services, and staff that support ICS students.

These programs offer services for our students, including but not limited to: teaching staff (instructional and mental health), Counselors and Social Workers, and interventionists.

Data collected is completely confidential. Your application is private and secure, and will never be shared outside the school for any purpose unrelated to determining eligibility. Completing an application may also help your family. Eligible students may qualify for reduced fees for college applications, scholarship opportunities, and pay-to-play participation fees.

Submitting an application is one of the easiest and quickest ways you can protect educational programs and services for your child and our community, at absolutely no cost to you.

At Imlay City Schools, we believe that great schools are built by great people—and we are excited to welcome the newest members of our Spartan family!

Each of our new staff members brings unique experiences, talents, and a shared commitment to helping every student learn, grow, and succeed. Together, we remain dedicated to providing a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.

Please help us welcome 𝑲𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒂𝒍𝒍 𝑺𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓 to Imlay City Middle School as a Math Teacher.

Kendall earned her Bachelor's degree in Special Education from Spring Arbor University, and she has also earned a Master's degree in Secondary Math. As an ICS Alumni, she is excited to be back in the schools that poured so much into her while she was growing up. Her goal is to now do the same for her students and give back to the community that shaped her. Kendall shares, "There is something special about this school district, and I'm very grateful for how welcomed I have already felt being back."

Kendall loves helping her students grow academically while also gaining confidence in themselves. She wants her classroom to be a place where students feel valued, supported, and encouraged to be their best. She plans to make math fun and meaningful while helping students build skills they can use inside and outside the classroom.
