🚸SLOW DOWN — SCHOOL IS BACK! 🚸

Today marks the first day back to school for many of our local students! As our kids head back to the classroom, we’re asking everyone to slow down, stay alert, and watch for children in school zones, neighborhoods, crosswalks, and bus stops.

🚌 Give school buses plenty of room and never pass a stopped bus with its lights flashing.
đźš— Put the phone down and keep your eyes on the road.
🚸 Be especially mindful of children who may be excited, distracted, or unpredictable around traffic.

From all of us at the Immokalee Fire Control District, we wish our students, teachers, staff, and families a safe and successful school year! ❤️

Let’s all do our part to make sure every child makes it to school — and back home — safely. 👩‍🚒🚒

As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July! Today is a time to gather with family and friends, reflect on the freedoms we enjoy, and honor those who have served to protect themWhile you’re enjoying the festivities, please remember to celebrate safely:
🎆Leave fireworks to the professionals when possible
🔥 Keep a safe distance from open flames and grills
đźš’ Never leave fires unattended
đź’§ Have water nearby in case of emergencies

Disposal reminder if using any kind of firework:✨✨ After use, place fireworks in water and allow them to fully cool before disposing — embers can stay hot for hours and may cause trash or dumpster fires near homes.

Our crews are on duty and ready 24/7 to serve and protect our community. Have fun, stay safe, and enjoy the celebration!

is lifting the burn ban effective Thursday, July 2, 2026. The decision to lift the ban came following a review by the Collier County Emergency Management Department, Florida Forest Service, Collier County Fire Chiefs’ Association, and Collier County Sheriff’s Office. The same group identified the need to issue a burning ban in January after certain environmental conditions were met, including dry conditions.

Collier County Government continues to urge residents to practice outdoor burning safety to reduce the community's year-round wildfire risk. Additionally, County officials recommend that residents visit smokeybear.com and www.fdacs.gov/Divisions-Offices/Florida-Forest-Service to learn more about safe burning practices.

This achievement strengthens our ability to provide advanced life-saving care to our community when it matters most.
Please join us in congratulating our paramedics on this accomplishment

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Donna Fiala, a valued member of our community.
Donna dedicated her life to serving others, and the impact she made will not be forgotten. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Because Donna was so loved, we understand that many in our community may wish to attend the services. At the request of the family, in-person attendance will be reserved for family and close friends.
We thank our community for the continued support, compassion, and understanding. Please keep Donna’s family in your thoughts during this time.
— Immokalee Fire Control District

For those who would like to pay their respects, a live stream of the service will be available at this link at 1pm Tuesday April 28th

Donna Fiala Service 04-28-2026

04/28/2026

The family of Donna Fiala is deeply moved by the incredible outpouring of love and support received since her passing. Donna dedicated decades of her life to serving this community, and seeing how much she meant to all of you brings us immense comfort.

Because Donna was so beloved, we know that many wish to attend Tuesday’s services at Lely Presbyterian Church. However, due to the limited capacity of her home church, we respectfully request that the in-person attendance at the funeral service be reserved for the family and close friends.

Lely Presbyterian will provide a live stream of Tuesday’s services, which you may access online at https://bit.ly/4mPHKZc . Please note that the link may not be active until just before the services begin.

In addition, this live stream will be broadcast at both Donna Fiala Eagle Lakes Park Community Center and at the North Collier Regional Park Exhibit Hall, should you wish to gather with others to remember Donna and her infectiously positive spirit.

Collier County is also planning a community-wide celebration of her life to be held at a later date, where all will be welcome to gather and celebrate Donna’s extraordinary life and public service. Details will be shared as soon as they are finalized.

We thank you for your understanding and for holding Donna and her family in your hearts.
