If you haven't already heard, the new Walmart fuel station is newly opened in El Centro! ⛽

For all you late night owls/morning birds, or if you don't like crowds, then this gas station is probably for you.

Was driving around late at night around 2:00 a.m. and decided to pass by just to check it out. Come to find out that it's actually a self serve 24-hour pay at the pump station. So there I am filling up my car at 2:00 a.m with my Walmart plus! How cool is that!

The gas station includes 24 pumps in total. 8 pumps on either end being Diesel and the rest of the 16 in between being regular gasoline!

There is also a convenience store that is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m!

So, did all of you guys notice a nice crisp morning today? The lack of humidity let our temperatures finally drop into the 70s overnight.

In fact our low temperature got down to 72°. Which is about 5° below average for this time of the year.

Just in time for Fall! Overall a gorgeous day!

However, humidity will make a comeback into the weekend and next week with a chance of showers and thunderstorms 🫩

A special weather statement has been issued for Seeley CA and Plaster City CA until 4:00 PM PDT

At 320 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 10 miles southwest of Mt. Signal, or 13 miles south of Plaster City, moving north at 10 mph.

Southern California today had the highest humidity in the U.S., even surpassing Florida.

The dew point over the Salton Sea reached a stifling 81°F, while Los Angeles hit 73°F, comparable to the Amazon rainforest.

The entirety of Southern California has seen a much more humid summer this year. This is due to the warm ocean off of the Pacific coast. With temperatures in the 70s off the coast of San Diego and Orange county nearing the 80° mark.

Normally the cooler waters of the Pacific Ocean help to cool off the coastal areas with Marine layer, but that hasn't been the case this year as warmer waters have led to more humid conditions.

Not only is the water in the Pacific warmer than normal, but the water in the Gulf of California to the south of us is also exceptionally warm. With temperatures between 80 and 90°. That is another reason why the Imperial Valley and the desert areas are seeing much more humid conditions. 💧💧
