For years, a Mexicali-based smuggling organization moved hundreds of illegal aliens from Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America into the United States — charging thousands of dollars while exploiting the very people they smuggled.

Ofelia Hernandez Salas, also known as Dona Lupe/La Guera, was sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for her role in the operation.

A key part of the case was the strong coordination between El Centro Sector agents, Homeland Security Investigation special agents and law enforcement partners in Mexico, leading to arrests, extradition efforts, and the successful federal prosecution of a transnational smuggler.

Established on May 28, 1924, the USBP was born from a critical need to secure our expanding borders.

From its early days, with agents often providing their own horses and navigating vast, rugged terrains, the Border Patrol's mission has continuously evolved. Through eras of Prohibition, shifting immigration policies, and the complexities of national security, agents have adapted, utilizing new technologies and strategies to meet the challenges of their time. This rich history is a testament to a century of unwavering dedication and resilience.

Today, that legacy lives on through the brave men and women who stand guard 24/7. Their commitment ensures the integrity of our borders and the safety of our communities. As we reflect on 102 years of service, we honor every agent who has contributed to this vital mission. Happy 102nd Birthday, U.S. Border Patrol!

Convicted s*xual predator arrested!

This illegal alien was convicted for felony Lewd or Lascivious Acts with a Child under 14 and sentenced to 3 years in prison.

After serving time in prison, he was removed from the U.S. Yet despite having broken our laws multiple times, he snuck back in. Good thing we found and apprehended him.

Finding and arresting criminal illegal aliens—this is why we are deployed across the country.
