🚨 SCAM ALERT: Asphalt Paving Fraud Targeting Residents 🚨

The Chase County Sheriff’s Office has received several more reports of individuals going door-to-door offering “discounted” asphalt paving or driveway repairs. These scams often target homeowners—especially seniors.

⚠️ How the scam works:
• They claim to have “leftover asphalt” from another job
• Offer a low price that quickly increases once work begins
• Perform poor-quality work—or stop midway and demand more money
• Request cash payment only

🔍 Red flags to watch for:
• No written contract or vague estimates
• No business license or local address
• High-pressure tactics (“must do it today”)
• Unmarked trucks or out-of-state plates

✅ Protect yourself:
• Always verify the company is licensed and insured
• Get multiple written estimates
• Never pay in full upfront
• Ask for references and check reviews

📞 If you are approached or have concerns, contact the Chase County Sheriff’s Office at 308-882-4748 before agreeing to any work.

If you believe you’ve been a victim of this scam, report it immediately.

Please share to help protect your neighbors.
