North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District To Protect Life & Property through efficient delivery of quality community services. Our Fire District is what we consider an "All Risk" Fire District.

We respond to all types of emergency and/or public service situations. We have the equipment to respond to traditional "fire service" calls such as structure fires, forest (wildland) fires, automobile wrecks, and emergency medical services. In addition to these situations, we respond to back country emergencies, boats and/or swimmers in distress, avalanche extractions, snowmobile and all-terrain v

ehicle accidents, rope rescue, over the side (hill) rescues, and searches. To help us accomplish these diverse needs, the fire district owns a heavy rescue squad, a rescue boat, and one UTV Ranger in addition to the traditional fire and emergency medical equipment.

☀️🚲 With warmer weather here, more e-bikes, e-scooters, and battery-powered devices are hitting the road and trail.

Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use on a daily day, but damaged or improperly charged batteries can become a fire hazard.

⚠️ Watch for:
🌡️ Excessive heat
💥 Swelling
👃 Strange odors
💥 Hissing or popping sounds
🚭 Smoke

Many battery fires start while charging. Always remember to use the correct charger, avoid using damaged batteries, and stop the use of any device that shows signs of battery failure.

🚨 URGENT: BLOOD DONORS NEEDED TOMORROW 🩸

Our community blood drive is tomorrow, and we’ve filled 24 of 57 appointment slots — but we still have a long way to go, with a critical emergency need for Type O donors.

Right now, there is an emergency blood shortage. Blood donations are being sent to hospitals faster than they’re coming in.

Without more donations:�⚠️ Patient treatments may be delayed�⚠️ Doctors may have to make difficult decisions about who receives care now—and who must wait

UPDATE 5/8 | 2:30 p.m.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office has cleared the scene. Fire personnel remain on scene working to resolve the gas leak. A small portion of the northwest parking lot remains blocked off, but parking is available within the shopping center.

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office is currently assisting with traffic control in the area of the Raley’s shopping center located at 930 Tahoe Boulevard in Incline Village due to a potential ruptured gas line.

North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District is on scene responding to the gas leak.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes while emergency personnel work to safely manage the situation.
