Huge shout out to Shelli Stinson, Realtor with expRealty for our lunch and learn today. We got great information about funeral preparations from Chris Grubbs from Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Homes and wills, trusts and elder law from Andrew Schierberg with Stages Elder Care Law . We always appreciate when members of our community take the time to share their expertise with us. Knowledge is power! And lunch was delicious, too!

We had some very special guests from WAVE Foundation today at the center. Katie, Ren, Tamera and Speckles! Speckles is an African penguin! We learned a lot about their species (and other types of penguins). We even closed the doors and let Speckles stretch her tiny little legs! Thanks so much for bringing this educational program to our center!

Tuesday was a blast from the past thanks to Stevie from Kenton County Public Library ! (Or a first time experience for some.) We tie dyed shirts! It was messy and fun. Since the shirts had to stay in the bag for 24 hours, we don't have pics of the finished products. If you have pics of yours, please share!

Tuesday was a learning, laughing good time! Eli and Ren from WAVE Foundation brought us information about sharks! Unfortunately, they didn't get to bring the live shark as planned but we did get a shark puppet show! They gave us great information about sharks and the entire eco system also how we can help. The display was hands on and we really appreciate them taking time to share their wisdom with us.

Last Thursday, Rachael and Sam came from The Summit of Edgewood to talk to us about their facility for senior living and assisted living. We got great information and a delicious lunch prepared by their chef. (We want the recipe!) The more we learn, the better prepared we are for the future.

The voting is done, the ballots are counted and we are back in business! (But only for 1 day.) We will have lunch on Thursday sponsored by The Summit of Edgewood . We will be closed Monday in honor of Memorial Day but some fun stuff will be happening next week. The WAVE Foundation will be bringing us a shark encounter on Tuesday at 11:00! Because of this, exercise with James will be moved to 12:30 on Tuesday and Ping pong/corn hole will be moved to 1:30. Lunch on Thursday will be pot luck with a presentation by Miranda from Kentucky Senior Medicare Patrol . Can't wait to see everyone again!

Just a reminder that we will be open for our regular schedule on Thursday but then closed again on Monday for Memorial Day. Lunch on Thursday will be sponsored by The Summit of Edgewood. Lunch will be chicken caesar wrap, fresh fruit, Summit’s signature dessert, and a drink. If there is anyone who would like to come for lunch but has not yet signed up, they can call today and leave a voicemail. See you there!

It's sad that the center is closed till the 21st (but voting is important so do your part!). Being such a short month, we aren't having any crafts so here's a throw back to last week's painting with Lou Ann. It was a great day and everyone was happy with their beautiful paintings!
