Calling all young artists! In celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States, Polk County Fire District No. 1 is sponsoring a July 4th Art Contest for students in grades K-12.
This year’s theme is: What does the 4th of July mean to you? Entries may include drawings, paintings, collages, poems, or writing, with age divisions for K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. First-place prize baskets will be awarded in each age group.
Entries are due by June 9, and winners will be notified on June 12. Projects can be submitted at Polk County Fire, 1800 Monmouth St. in Independence, or through local school offices.
Winning artwork will be displayed during Polk County Fire’s annual July 4 Pancake Breakfast on July 4 from 6 to 10 a.m. Questions? Email [email protected]
