May the 4th be with you, voters!

Ballots for the June 2, 2026 Statewide Direct Primary Election will be mailed out today - May 4th. A perfect day for all Jedis, Rebels, and Stormtroopers to check their mailboxes. Keep an eye out for your ballot delivery, make sure your lightsaber—uh, pen—is ready, and feel free to return your ballot as soon as you’ve made your choices.

This is the way… to be heard!

I appreciate the local community groups that are hosting candidate forums to help voters hear directly from those running for office and learn about the issues that matter to Inyo County.

As we approach the June 2 Primary Election, I want to encourage strong voter participation. While state and federal contests will continue to the November General Election, most of our local contests will be decided in June. This includes the two separate Superior Court Judge contests and the County Supervisor District 1 contest.

For County Supervisor District 3, where three candidates are running, the contest will advance to the General Election unless one candidate receives more than 50% of the total votes cast.

Make your plan to vote. Every eligible voter will receive a ballot by mail next week, and in‑person voting options will also be available.

Your voice shapes Inyo County’s leadership.

Inyo Elections semi-offical results update, information on our Audit, and when we can certify our final results:

6th Report – 3:53 pm 11/10/2025
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GAHo7TXv4n9ZYOwnVtC9NGEviFZkUs8j/view?usp=drive_link

We currently have only 13 pending unprocessed ballots with pending signature issues. At this point, we would be ready to certify the results on 11/20/2025 after our hand tally audit which will be held on 11/19/25; However, the legislation that called this election (SB-280) forbids county election officials from certifying final results prior to 28 days after the election if there are any ballots with pending signature issues.

Ballots with pending signature issues: Ballots received by mail on or before Election Day that were either not signed or the signatures did not match are “Challenged” and set aside. These voters are mailed a form explaining that their ballot cannot be counted until the voter signs and returns the form so we may confirm their signature with our system. If they return their form, we may then accept their ballot and add it to the tallied results. Per the one-time law created for this election, these ballots can continue to be processed through the delayed certification period.

Final Report: As such, if we receive any signed forms for these 13 ballots, we will provide a final updated report before we finalize and certify the Official Results on 12/02/2025 (28 days after Election Day).

Happy Election Day Inyo County Voters!!! Our office has received calls of concern from voters that have submitted their mailed ballot to one of our Drop Boxes, but didn't receive a notification from the State's Ballot Trax system. As a reminder, Ballot Trax works with the USPS for those notifications. Ballots submitted to us by Drop Box, in person, or by mail can be confirmed directly on our website. The best resource is the direct source! Please visit our site to check the status of your returned mailed ballot.
Thank you for voting!!

Have you tried our lookup tools on our Elections website?? Try them today! Links are located on our main Elections page. The first tool will confirm if we have physically received your returned mailed ballot. If you have not voted yet, the second tool will provide your in-person voting location and provide additional information.
